Our wedding weekend coincides with a University of Colorado home football game. We've learned that hotel availability will be limited and prices will be higher than usual. We recommend early booking to secure the best options.2. For your convenience, transportation will be provided to and from the wedding venue on Saturday, September 12th. Whether you’re just in town for the wedding or making a longer trip out of it, here are some of our favorites to help guide your planning. Start early due to popularity (Nederland, 40 min)• West Magnolia Trails - great for fall leaves (Nederland, 40 min) Boulder Attractions:• Chautauqua Park / Flatirons• Pearl Street Walking Mall• Farmer’s Market Nearby Mountain Towns:If you’re making a longer vacation out of your trip to Colorado, any of the mountain towns in September will be beautiful and you may get lucky with early Fall colors. Some of our favorites include: Breckenridge/Frisco (1:45 hours from Boulder), Crested Butte (4 hours from Boulder) and Steamboat Springs (3 hours from Boulder). Rocky Mountain National Park is also just over an hour from Boulder and you can make a day trip or two out of it with some time in neighboring Estes Park. Be advised that you do need to make reservations in advance for Rocky Mountain National Park as there are limited entry permits each day.

AIR TRAVELFlying into Denver International Airport (DIA) &amp; Travel to Boulder Distance &amp; Travel TimeDenver International Airport (DIA) is approximately 45–50 miles from Boulder, depending on your route. Typical travel time is 45–60 minutes, but in September—especially on busy weekends—we recommend allowing 60–90 minutes to account for traffic, construction, and airport congestion. Transportation Options1. Rental Cars (Recommended for Flexibility)If you prefer the freedom to explore Boulder, Golden, or the surrounding foothills, a rental car is a great option.Please note: DIA’s rental car center is off-site, requiring a shuttle from baggage claim (10–15 minutes). Allow additional time to get from your arrival gate → train to the terminal → baggage claim → shuttle → rental car pickup.Returning a rental car before your departure also takes extra time (see “Airport Departure Tips” below). Toll Road Information:Many routes from DIA to Boulder include the E-470 Toll Road. Tolls are billed automatically to your rental car contract. You may choose non-toll routes if you prefer—just note they can add 10–20 minutes during peak times. 2. Rideshare (Uber or Lyft)Uber and Lyft are both readily available at DIA.Pickup is located on Level 5, Island 5 at the designated rideshare area.Pricing varies depending on time of day and demand, but average fares to Boulder typically range from $70–$120.Rideshare is a great option if you prefer not to rent a car, though having a vehicle provides more flexibility for meals, errands, or exploring the area. Wedding Weekend TransportationSaturday – Wedding Day Transportation will be provided for all guests by Becca &amp; Jason to and from the wedding ceremony and reception venue. Pickup details and schedule will be shared closer to the date. Friday – Rehearsal Dinner &amp; Welcome PartyGuests without rental cars may take an Uber or Lyft to Friday’s events. Helpful Tips &amp; Considerations 1. Plan Extra Travel Time Sept 11–13, 2026This is a busy weekend in Boulder due to the CU Football home-game schedule and fall visitors.We highly recommend adding an additional hour to any travel plans (airport arrivals, transfers, rideshare wait times, etc.) 2. Weather in SeptemberColorado weather can change quickly—sunny one minute, stormy the next.Allow extra time for driving in case of sudden rain, wind, or mountain storms. 3. Luggage &amp; Baggage Claim TimingDIA is a very large airport. It can take:10–15 minutes to walk from the plane to the train5 minutes train ride to the main terminal10–20 minutes to reach baggage claimExpect at least 30–45 minutes from landing to retrieving bags. 4. Departing From DIA – What to KnowCar Rental ReturnThe rental car return is off-site; allow 20–30 minutes for drop-off + shuttle back to the terminal.If returning midday or during peak travel windows, add more time. 5. Security LinesDIA security lines can be long, especially in the mornings and late afternoons.General security: allow 45–60 minutesWith TSA PreCheck: 15–30 minutesWith CLEAR: usually 5–10 minutes 6. Recommended arrival time for flights:2 hours before domestic flights3 hours before international flights(especially on busy September weekends) Additional Tips for Out-of-Town Guests Altitude: Boulder sits at 5,300 ft. Stay hydrated and avoid overexertion on your first day.Parking: Many hotels charge for overnight parking. Guests relying on rideshare may avoid these costs.Driving Navigation: Cell service is generally strong, but maps occasionally reroute near canyons or foothills—download offline directions if exploring.Evening Temperature Drops: Even warm days cool off quickly; pack a light layer for evening events.
